23/4/10 - New project to get teeth into

It is my delight to announce that I am starting work with the Highland Children's Forum based here in Inverness. The charity was created by the parent carers of children with additional support needs. The Forum aims to ensure that the voices of these children are heard in the design and provision of services in the area. The Forum concentrates its activities on developing ways to hear the voice of children in need and to relay this to central policy authorities. It seeks to influence changes in policy to bring about better outcomes for children and young people. It's great to be involved with such a passionate team and really complements my work with Social Enterprise too.

The music side is developing too. MacGregor, Brechin and O'hEadhra have asked me to work with them to increase their profile and establish dates for concerts so my time is beginning to fill up nicely! Now all I have to worry about is where to go on holiday this summer...

14/3/10 - Slow start to the year

The last year seems to have flown past. I'm now working more with HISEZ organising networking events for Social Enterprises across the Highlands and Islands as well as being involved with the delivery of our annual conference. Unfortunately the bad weather we have been having climaxed the day of the conference and we had to cancel. Our key speaker John Bird, editor of the Big Issue made it up from London so it was a pleasure meeting him and if you get the chance to hear the man speak - DO! He talks a lot of sense. It's refreshing.

So what else have I been up to? Forums for PAN - the Promoters Arts Network who I love working with. Another inspiring bunch on people. Also been working with Fiona Mackenzie, a stunningly talented singer song-writer here in Inverness. She is off on tour in June, dates nearly finalised. Other than that, the Cromarty Film Festival 2010 is carefully being prepared, early days but some interesting things are afoot.

12/6/09 - Yikes June already!

Hmm, I can't really believe it is June already but looking at the sun shining outside I guess it could be true. As well as the ongoing work with the Cromarty Film festival (which is coming together very nicely) I'm delighted to have started work with Inverness Old Town Art (IOTA) and various Scottish visual artistes. More information to follow soon. Thank goodness I have a trip to the Western Isles planned in July for some rest and stunning scenery.

22/5/09 - New projects ongoing

2008 was a busy year for me with consultancy work for Artsplay Highland and administration work for the Cromarty Film Festival in addition to work with Firefly Productions and Summer Isles foods. I'm glad to say that 2009 is looking pretty busy too. I'm now working with HISEZ and delighted to have started work on the Cromarty Film Festival very early this year. Watch this space for announcements such as who our Guests will be this year and what films they have chosen!
